Cardiff Riverside Sustainable Food Community

The Cardiff sustainable food community project involves collaboration between private and public sectors and a number of third sector organisations. It consists of three local initiatives:

Get Fresh Mobile Farm Shop
Get Fresh! the Cardiff PopUp Farm Shop, makes local fresh fruit and vegetables from the Riverside Market Garden and other local sources available directly to people in communities all over Cardiff, some of which can currently be described as 'food deserts'. Get Fresh! also sells artisan ready-meals made from locally produced and free-range ingredients - a unique 'offer' in Cardiff. Find out more here

Cardiff Food Charter cardiff food charter logo

The Cardiff Food Charter was developed to celebrate and promote a diverse and vibrant local food culture, working towards increasing demand and supply for fresh, seasonal, local and organic food throughout Cardiff. Launched at an event in April 2012, the Charter has received fantastic sector support and led to the creation and implementation of a Cardiff Food Council. Find out more here

Cardiff Orchard
The Cardiff Orchard project works to raise awareness about the fruit growing in the Cardiff area and maps fruit trees across the City. In a time when food prices are rising the project aims to utilise 'urban fruit' by harvesting and distributing this fruit through community groups. Cardiff Orchard is a joint project between RCMA, the Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens and the Cardiff Transition Project. View the website here
