![]() Organic tourismMore and more organic producers are offering facilities for tourism – bed and breakfast; self-catering; camping and more unusually, accommodation in yurts. Tourism offers the producers another outlet for their meat, vegetables and other products and gives visitors the opportunity to experience really fresh produce direct from the farm. The Better Organic Business Links project has produced three reports to help tourism providers understand how organic products can help their business. 1. A review of the available literature and the concepts of sustainable tourism, ecotourism, agritourism and food tourism. 2. Six case studies of successful organic hospitality and food tourism businesses in Wales. 3. Report of a questionnaire survey of all the known organic agri-tourism providers in Wales. The next phase of developing the markets for organic food in the Welsh hospitality and tourism sector will be a guide for businesses. This will be published to the website shortly.
