Organic Centre Wales (OCW) recognises the need for practical support and expert input to the sector and so has formed a partnership with Weir Total Supply Chain Sustainability (Weir-tscs) to deliver precisely that.

Weir-tscs has been a sustainability leader in the field of supply chain excellence for over 20 years, successfully working with businesses of all sizes to reduce costs, risks and environmental impact, and also improve business reputation.

Through this project tools and expertise are being applied to examine supply chains and develop real improvement opportunities and practical Sustainability Action Plans for businesses. The work looks at the whole process: sourcing and buying of raw materials; processing, packaging and storage; distribution, selling and consumption of the products; even through to any post-consumer waste.

A sustainability action plan drives increased profitability and exemplary environmental performance across the supply chains. The learnings from the work with individual businesses will also be collated into case studies and guidance to enable the whole organic sector in Wales to benefit.
