New organic care farm in Pembrokeshire

A new care farming enterprise is opening at Clynfyw, an organic farm in north Pembrokeshire. Care farming means using farming practices for therapeutic purposes, in this case providing vulnerable adults an opportunity to develop new skills and confidence through activities such as horticulture, charcoal and woodland management. For more details see the Clynfyw website. Clynfyw are recruiting a coordinator to work on the project: see our Adverts page.

Care farming is increasingly recognized as an effective way to support people with special needs and there are some excellent examples in Wales already, some of them organic. For more details see www.carefarminguk.org.

Training for care farming can be arranged via the CEVAS scheme, and is delivered in Wales by FACE. Contact for more details.
