Completion of business dialogues

BOBL Project Officers have now completed the Business Dialogue and the conclusions are being summarised in a report. The main Business Dialogue was conducted during the autumn of 2010 and an abbreviated version was repeated during the autumn of 2012. The objective of the 2010 dialogue was to talk to as many of the businesses adding value to organic products in Wales as was practicable. This enabled field officers and other staff to introduce themselves to businesses, collect useful statistics on their scope and intentions, and identify areas where the BOBL project could add value to the organic supply chain in Wales.

In 2012 the dialogue was more targeted and sought to identify businesses which were keen to develop and grow. The dialogue listed around 60 businesses but was less formal and focused on reviewing how they were doing after two difficult years. There was a range of responses including some very positive good news stories which have been used to support the OCW Naturally Different consumer campaign. The dialogue was also used to raise the profile of BOBL activities with the priorities being the Sustainability Toolkit and the social media programme included as part of the OCW Naturally Different campaign. The conclusions of the dialogue are currently being incorporated into a report which will be published here on our website.
