Organic Farming Scheme agreements extended to 31 December 2014.

The Welsh Government is offering to extend OFS agreements until the end of 2014. This applies to all OFS agreement holders, including those that did not accept the previous offer to extend to the end of this year. Letters have been sent out and will arriving this week, so look out for them!

Tony Little from Organic Centre Wales said 'This is very welcome news. We are aware of a number of farmers who are reflecting on their situation and considering discontinuing their organic certification this May, and uncertainty over support payments in the short term was a big factor in that decision. This clarifies the situation for the next 18 months or so, and I hope those farmers will reconsider in the light of this offer.'

The Welsh Government will introduce new organic scheme during the next RDP.
