Workshops for egg producers

Organic egg producers in Wales have consistently identified sourcing organic pullets as one of their biggest problems. As the derogation to use part-organic pullets comes to an end in 2012, the issue is becomingly increasing urgent.

Using funds from the Better Organic Business Links (BOBL) project and the Farming Connect Organic Development Programme, OCW has been looking at some the key issues around increasing the supply in Wales including: likely demand for organic pullets; capital costs of establishing a pullet rearing enterprise; gross margin calculations; and production techniques and pullet management.

We are holding a workshop at Henfaes Research Centre, Bangor on Tuesday 26 January so come and help us deal with this pressing issue. Contact (01970 621632) for more information. read more
