Wales wildlife given 1.5m protection amid climate change

The Welsh Government's Natural Resources Minister, Alun Davies said the money will strengthen the environment against climate change.

The Minister, who will give more details of the funding at the Hay Festival in Powys later on Monday, said: "Despite conservation successes in recent years, Welsh wildlife is declining as the number of pressures it faces continues to rise.

The Wales Biodiversity and Natural resources Wales will run the programme. This fund will encourage projects to support habitats, wildlife and sustain a healthy environment in Wales.

It is now open for project applications until the 4th July. read more
