Cardiff to receive funding from the Sustainable Food Cities programme

Cardiff Food Council has announced that they are among only six UK cities to be awarded funding through the Sustainable Food Cities Programme. The Cardiff Sustainable Food Cities Programme is a partnership between Cardiff University, Cardiff Council, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board and Public Health Wales working closely with Third sector and private sector partners.

Eryl Powell, Chair of the Cardiff Food Council said: 'We were informed that the sustainable food city competition was strong with great applications from every city, but the selection panel felt that Cardiff offered a particularly compelling opportunity to create a model Sustainable Food City.'

'The funding will enable us to employ a dedicated Sustainable Food Cities Coordinator who will work with partners over the next three years to deliver the Cardiff Sustainable Food Cities programme. A new website will be launched in January 2014.' darllen mwy
