At a conference entitled "How can organic + fair trade guarantee global food security?" which took place on 22 April in Munich, delegates called for the strengthening of smallholder and organic agriculture in order to achieve long-term global food security. View conference report.

Meanwhile the Soil Association has produced a report, Telling porkies: the big fat lie about doubling food production which contests the assertion that we need to increase food production 50% by 2030, or that it needs to double by 2050.
