Support for the dairy sector

Last month Wales' Rural Affairs Minister, Elin Jones launched a new project designed to support the dairy industry in Wales to improve the efficiency, sustainability and added value of the dairy supply chain.

She said: “Now is an important time to consider the future of food. As Wales's Rural Affairs Minister I am keen for Wales to do the best we can to ensure a sustainable food system which meets our economic, environmental and social priorities.”

Sue Fowler, Director of Organic Centre Wales said: “We are pleased to see this further support for the dairy sector, and encourage organic dairy farmers to engage with the project to benefit from this. This project will complement the organic sector's Better Organic Business Links (BOBL) project which aims to build better links throughout the organic business community to deliver profitability, sustainability and exemplary environmental performance.
