The future of global agriculture

A report from the Worldwatch Institute in the USA published in January supports the role of agroecological farming methods in developing global food security. It calls for changes in food production and distribution, with less meat production, less reliance on petrochemicals, and more local and regional production of food. Farmers Guardian

Meanwhile the UK government's report on the future of food and farming, produced by the Foresight project, predicts rising food prices and calls for 'sustainable intensification', with a role for GM food and animal cloning. See The Future of Food and Farming.
