Sign up to the Gwynedd Food Charter

The Gwynedd Food Charter, which is supported by the BOBL project, was launched by Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas at the Urdd Eisteddfod on Wednesday 6 June.

Cynthia Hughes of Sustainable Gwynedd Cynaliadwy Ltd said: “Food is central to the livelihoods, culture and language of people in Gwynedd. More than ever there is a need for local, fresh, healthy, natural food, affordable for all, and produced to the highest standards of safety and quality.

“We need food production and activities which contribute to the health and well being of the county. Food production must be sustainable. Economically, it should create jobs and keep money local. To achieve this will need the public and private sectors and communities working together in real partnerships. The signatories of this Charter are committed to promoting and working for good food in Gwynedd.” she added.
