The Soil Association and Organic Centre Wales have joined forces to support food providers in Wales to serve food which is better for people and the planet. On Wednesday 3rd July the first event was held at the National Botanic Garden of Wales.
Keynote speaker Susannah McWilliam, PhD Researcher at Cardiff University, introduced the Soil Association's Food for Life Catering Mark scheme and explained the economic, environmental and business benefits which can be achieved from serving ethically sourced and freshly prepared food.
Les Carmichael, Catering Manager at Swansea University, explained how Swansea became the first organisation to achieve the Catering Mark in Wales.
The Catering Mark guarantees that meals which are freshly prepared, free from controversial additives and better for animal welfare.
