Providing information on organic food and farming in Wales
How to apply
An application window opens every year, subject to budget availability, usually in late summer. The window for the 2017 scheme is 17 October - 4 November 2016. The form is available exclusively at RPW on line and easy to complete, but you must be registered with RPW Online. This can take a few days so don't leave it to the last minute!
The Welsh Government will review the applications, and if necessary prioritises them. It issues formal offer letters to successful applicants on line, probably in November. You have to sign and return the offer online by 31 December.
Agreements start on the 1 January 2017, and all land must be registered as organic or in conversion with your chosen Organic Control Body by this date.
Offer letters were sent out to successful applicants for the 2017 Glastir Organic scheme in the week beginning 5 December 2016. The deadline for returning the signed letter is within 7 days of your receiving it. If you applied to the scheme in the EOI application window in October/ November, you need to check your RPA online account now and respond immediately.
For the first time, funds applied for exceeded the available budget so that the scoring procedure has been implemented and some applicants will find themselves on the reserve list.
The reason for the short turnaround time is partly to enable contracts to start on 1st January 2017 and partly so that if successful applicants do not wish accept their offer the funding can be quickly reallocated to those on the reserve list
