Providing information on organic food and farming in Wales
Retail and Sales Networking event and Training course 8 May 2013OCW has an exciting training opportunity for 2013, which we have developed by working closely with a number of organic businesses. There is no charge for this training which is provided as part of the BOBL project.
The training will include an off-site training and networking event for local and community shops and followed up with a visit to delegates shops by the retail expert. The training will:
a) give retailers an opportunity to network with other people facing the same challenges;
b) get an expert retailer to take a fresh look at how they present goods in their shop;
c) help staff understand the principles of organic production and the importance of local supply chains.
Point of sale materials
In addition to the training we can offer eye catching and informative point of sale (POS) materials for your store to help stimulate sales of the organic produce you stock. The POS materials aim to highlight the facts of organics through questions and answers, to help customers discover organics in store.
Eye catching POS materials can attract customers and improve their shopping experience in your shop, as well as help them to discover the benefits of organic food.

When he left for West Wales in 2010 Unicorn was taking £3.7m annually, £1m of which was from organic fresh produce sales. Adam led the Veg, Buying and Financial Teams for many years and with his partner started an offshoot business growing salads and leafy crops for the store. In his latter years he developed training systems within Unicorn to ensure a high level of retail skills across a multi-tasking, 50 strong, workforce.
