News from the Centremore news stories…Stockfree organic farmingVegan organic growing uses green manures, mulches, composts and careful crop rotation to build soil fertility without using animal manures. Five UK growers are already certified as stockfree organic. People who would like to get into organic horticulture can study for an FdSc foundation degree in organic horticulture at Glyndwr University. Stockfree organic production systems and standards are a strong element of the programme and link in to the stockfree organic production unit at the Flintshire campus. In suitable circumstances, the Vegan-Organic Network (VON) is able to award bursaries to students on this course. There’s an opportunity to find out more at Glyndwr’s Open Day on Saturday 5 June, 10am-3pm. See details or e-mail
