All organic businesses are invited to a workshop to discuss the future of organic horticulture in Wales, on 3 December at CAT, Machynlleth.
Four clear themes have emerged, which will form the basis of the programme: Finding new markets; working together more; presenting and selling our products better; and working more closely with local communities.
Tony Little, one of the workshop organisers, said “This meeting comes at a critical time. Many businesses are struggling on the back of a series of poor growing seasons in recent years, a dip in the organic market and competition from homegrown produce. The main aim of the workshop is to come up with plan of action to get us through this difficult period, and everyone involved in organic horticulture in Wales needs to play a part in that”.
