Organic Producers make their mark in Wales the True Taste Awards

Organic producers are well represented amongst the winners of Wales the True Taste Awards. Of the 80 awards organic food products were eligible for, 13 went to organic producers and eight of these were gold. These are in addition to the winners in the Organic category.

Sue Fowler, Director of Organic Centre Wales said: “It’s very pleasing to see the hard work and commitment of organic businesses being rewarded and to see organic products making such an excellent contribution to the reputation of Welsh food. Organic standards are backed by EU legislation and recognised in European and global markets. Winning an award helps organic producers in their domestic and export markets and will help raise the profile of all Welsh food.

Some of the winning products can be bought over the Internet and many of the producers will be at the Welsh Winter Fair at the end of this month. This is the right time of year to remind ourselves how good Welsh food can be, particularly Organic.”
