Winter meetings have so far looked at forage quality and cattle rationing, as well as introducing members to fifth Farming Connect Development Centre, Canolfan Hinsawdd Cymru/Wales Climate Change, which is based in Aberystwyth. Ben Williams the Knowledge Transfer Officer for Mid and South West Wales and Gwenith Hughes, Project Manager, have attended four meetings to explained how the new centre can help with the challenges facing Welsh agriculture. Members have also been discussing OCW’s most recent project, Better Organic Business Links (BOBL), and giving Phil Jones valuable suggestions for developing the market for organic produce. Late winter and early spring meetings will deal with preparations for reseeding, how organic farming methods can reduce harmful emissions and preparing for lambing. read more
