OCW founders recognised for contributions to UK agriculture
Nic Lampkin and Mark Measures of the Organic Research Centre have been awarded Associateships of the Royal Agricultural Societies in recognition of their contribution to UK agriculture and to research, advice and policy development for organic farming in particular
Nic is widely acknowledged as the driving force behind the establishment of OCW in 2000 and has been at the heart of the organisation ever since, serving as director as until 2009 at IBERS and subsequently as a partner at ORC. Mark was head of the advisory services at ORC when OCW was established and played a pivotal role in establishing the OCW partnership. He is now Director of the Institute of Organic Training and Advice based at ORC.
Nic Lampkin said: ‘We are very honoured to have received this recognition, but it is also recognition of the role that organic farming now plays in UK agriculture, and of the efforts of the whole team at the Organic Research Centre to apply research and evidence to the sound development and communication of organic and agroecological approaches to agriculture.’
