Royal Welsh 2010

Some 231,000 visitors attended this years’ Show, boosted by the International Shearing Exhibition which attracted over 1,000 visitors from NZ and Germany alone. Seven exhibitors joined OCW in the Organic Food and Farming marquee: Soil Association, Organic Farmers and Growers, Quality Welsh Food Certification, ADAS Wales, Welsh Black Cattle Organic Club, Graig Producers and Western Seeds.

Representatives from Organic Centre Wales reported interest from farmers enquiring about conversion with some new producers interested in OCIS requesting an initial advisory visit. All the stands were visited by those producers already well established in organic production, with concerns expressed by farmers about Glastir and the high cost of organic feed.

The displays of organic produce from Wales encouraged consumers to visit our stand and sample our hospitality, donated by Waitrose, Clipper and other companies.
