Monitoring internal parasites

Graig Producers, the Powys-based livestock marketing group, launched their internal parasite monitoring service for beef and sheep farmers at the Royal Welsh Show. The service uses the faecal egg counting system, with Freepost, and allows farmers to monitor the parasite burden and give treatment before the worm burden becomes damaging. At the same time it avoids the increasingly expensive option of preventative treatment, which helps to build resistance amongst parasites. For more information contact on 01938 820251, 07506 010123.
