Making the most of protein crops: De hulling peas and beans.

Organic Centre Wales has been looking at how removing the hulls of home grown protein crops such as peas and beans can improve the quality of home grown protein crops and reduce reliance on imported soya. We’ve looked at the theory (download this booklet for details), now for the practice! We are organising a trip to look at dehulling machines in action. This will include a visit to a manufacturer, Alvan Blanch in Malmesbury (Wilts) and then on to Harpenden (Herts) to see how one operates on the farm.
