Rural Development Plan (RDP) Grants• Sustainable Production Grants – These will focus on animal health and welfare, crop storage, and production housing and need to improve nutrient, energy efficiency or water efficiency. About £2 million is available to provide 40% grant funding for up to 40 projects. The minimum grant contribution is £16,000 and the maximum £400,000. Application window for Expressions of Interest (EOI) 29 Feb 2016 – 25 Apr 2016 • Food Business Investment Scheme – These are similar to the old Processing and Marketing Grants, also funded at 40% for SMEs (20% for large businesses). About £8 million is available for an anticipated 40 projects, with the maximum grant contribution of £5million and a minimum of £2,400. Application window for Expressions of Interest (EOI) 29 Feb 2016 – 25 Apr 2016 • Rural Community Development Fund – This is for the improvement or expansion of local basic services, such as Community transport and connectivity, renewable energy projects and village renewal and public amenities. If you are interested in developing closer links with your local community or have a renewable energy product in mind this could be useful. Application window for Expressions of Interest (EOI) 29 Feb 2016 – 23 May 2016 • Co-operation and Supply Chain Development Scheme – This supports the development of: new products, practices, processes and technologies in the agriculture, forestry and food sectors; and pilot projects where the information is made publicly available and widely disseminated.
